SLEWS Day 1
On February 29th, our leadership class got the have the opportunity to take part in the Student and Landowner Education and Watershed Stewardship or the SLEWS program. They got a hands-on experience on environmental stewardship. With the collaboration California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the City of Merced, these students got to engage in habitat restoration projects, planting trees and shrubs, building irrigation systems, and participating in ecological field studies. This was day 1 out of 3 days and our members are ready to learn and understand more aout the potential careers in natural resource management and environmental science.
